The Santa Rosa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Dr. Darius Bunyad. Bunyad was a licensed chiropractor from 2009-2016, with an office in downtown Santa Rosa. He has a felony no bail warrant for failure to appear in court related to numerous sex crimes charges. Although he was present throughout much of the two-week trial, he failed to appear on March 8 and March 9, 2017. On March 9, a jury found him guilty of six felonies and six misdemeanor charges.
At the time of his disappearance, information provided to investigators suggested Bunyad was last seen by a family member on March 8, 2017 in the Walnut Creek area, meeting with an unknown female.
Although born in Afghanistan in 1980, Bunyad has lived in the United States for many years. At some point, he changed his first name from Daryoush to Darius. He is 36 years old, approximately 5’10” tall and 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and his most recent booking photo shows he had a completely shaved head and full beard in 2015. During court proceedings this past March, he had grown his hair out and was clean shaven. A reward up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance “Take Back Our Community Program.” The reward is for information which directly leads to the arrest of Darius Bunyad.
